- We would happily see the UK rejoin the EU tomorrow if possible but we know that this will be the work of many years
- This first step must be securing closer EU/UK ties and working to improve the Government’s shambolic Brexit deal. We are doing this both through our engagement with decision makers and businesses, and through our work with the cross party UK Trade and Business Commission and Trade Unlocked
- Our EU allies would also need to be assured that there was consensus on EU membership between the main UK parties and that Brexit won’t happen again. Electoral reform would be a good way to ensure there are checks on the main party of government and that they are not in future spooked by fringe eurosceptic views.
