The Prime Minister is “catching up” with where voters have “long been” on freedom of movement, campaigners have highlighted, after Andy Burnham called for an “honest discussion” on the issue.

The Prime Minister’s remarks about freedom of movement come ahead of the annual UK-EU summit in Brussels on November 20.
He is expected to set out to the British public the options for the UK’s future relationship with Europe.
Cary Mitchell, Director of Strategy at Best for Britain, said:
“Andy Burnham says he won’t get ahead of voters when it comes to freedom of movement, but by backing it he’s just catching up with where they’ve long been.
“Our polling shows clear support for the advantages it would bring, especially among those prepared to vote Labour at the next election. That’s only logical when the reciprocal benefits include opening 27 doors onto priceless opportunities for young British people to work, study, travel and live across our continent.”
