How much is Brexit really costing us? The Cost of Brexit

Rejoining Erasmus will give young people key opportunities and should receive broad, cross-party support, campaigners highlight.

Hamish Falconer, Minister for Intergovernmental Relations and European Relations of the United Kingdom, has confirmed the UK will rejoin the Erasmus plus student exchange scheme from the start of January 2027.

This commitment comes ahead of the annual UK-EU summit in Brussels on November 20.

Cal Roscow, Director of Campaigns at Best for Britain, said:

“We’re relieved to see the promise to rejoin Erasmus, made at the last UK-EU Summit, has been fulfilled. But after seven years, a generation of young Brits have been robbed of the chance to study, train or get work experience in the European Union. Opportunities that even Reform UK’s own education spokesperson benefitted from, so we would expect to see broad, cross-party, support for the move.”
