Renewed EU membership would help keep the UK and Europe safe from Russian agression while creating at least £92bn in economic growth, campaigners are highlighting.

Today, Prime Minister Andy Burnham met with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the UK’s drive to get closer to Europe, small boat crossings in the English Channel and shared defence and security.
Preseident Macron is the first overseas visitor since Burnham became Prime Minister.

“With an unreliable ally in Washington, and a dangerous enemy in Moscow, strengthening UK-EU relations is imperative to keep all of us unlucky enough to be sandwiched between the two safe, secure and prosperous.
“Renewed UK membership of the EU – which is wholeheartedly backed by a majority of voters, would see at least a £92bn boost to GDP that delivers growth in every postcode, shields consumers from the impact of tariffs and denies Putin the chaos he yearns for across our continent.”
