How much is Brexit really costing us? The Cost of Brexit

As the government considers how to potentially deepen ties with Brussels ahead of the upcoming UK-EU summit on November 20, Prime Minister Andy Burnham has written to his cabinet asking them to avoid publicly backing specific options for the UK’s future relationship with the EU.

Burnham said any “fundamental change” to post-Brexit arrangements would be “for the public to decide” and left to the next Parliament.

Cal Roscow, Director of Campaigns at Best for Britain, said:

“Leaving the EU has harmed Britain’s businesses, hurt GDP and hammered international trade, all worsened by a disastrous deal that has held back growth for a decade, as the public are all too aware and the Prime Minister is right to highlight.

“The Cabinet should take note that opinion polling consistently shows that strengthening ties with Europe is overwhelmingly popular with voters in nearly every corner of Great Britain.

“Burnham has said that UK-EU relations are for the public to decide. The numbers demonstrate that they already have.”
