How much is Brexit really costing us? The Cost of Brexit

Half-measures with Europe will only offer temporary relief but renewed EU membership would grant UK access to the bloc’s systems while creating massive economic growth, campaigners highlight.

This comes as Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey has called for the UK to join the EU’s Migration and Asylum Pact, in an effort to end small boat crossings. The pact is a set of rules designed to manage migration and establish a common asylum system at the EU level.

Naomi Smith, Chief Executive of Best for Britain, said:

“The Lib Dems have the right diagnosis but only half the cure: Britain cannot patch up Brexit one painstakingly slow and expensive deal at a time.

“Bilateral sticking plasters may offer temporary relief but will never deliver automatic access to the EU’s systems and the economic growth that comes from being in, not out. Membership would give us this and every other benefit along with a desperately needed £92bn boost to Treasury coffers.”
