Nigel Farage has resigned as an MP amid a case being opened by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, so that he can re-stand.
Why is he doing this? No one can say for certain (and for legal reasons!), but by announcing that he will stand again, it looks as if he's trying to delay the investigation and make it harder for him to be subject to another by-election if the investigation finds any wrongdoing.
But what we do know, is that we can make it harder for him to win this by-election.
